Manx2.com is to increase the number of flights it offers between the Isle of Man and Belfast to up to sixteen a day from October this year. Customers can already choose from up to fourteen flights on these routes on a Friday, but the new timetable will provide still more choice by offering more peak morning and evening departures.

The new timetable will mean Manx2.com offers 80,000 seats between the Isle of Man and Belfast on offer to Islanders every year.

“The recent demise of Euromanx has left some questions in Islanders’ minds about local aviation which we fully intend to answer”, says Manx2.com’s communications director James Filleul. “We have already booked more than 2,000 former Euromanx passengers onto our services free of charge, and we are now increasing the frequency of our flights to Belfast to make sure there is even more choice of flight times for customers – and, despite the ever increasing cost of fuel, we are still offering fares on the route from £15 (online single including tax with no fuel surcharges)!”

Manx2.com has also announced that it has recruited two of the former Euromanx Operations team, and in doing so, is keeping those key skills in the Island. The company is also looking to recruit and train locally based pilots to meet planned fleet expansion, with a new aircraft, a nineteen seat Dornier 228 arriving in July. Finally, the company’s new engineering base at Isle of Man Airport, and company headquarters, will be opening ahead of schedule in July.

James also says: “We are a local company, based at the airport, and offering seven routes off the Island. We are adding more flights on those routes, and continuing to provide fares from just £15. We are recruiting more staff in the Isle of Man, both in terms of crew and operations, and will shortly be opening our new engineering base and company HQ here. For all of those reasons, we will be urging people to Fly Manx….Fly Manx2”.
