Airbase Flight Support has issued a press release in which it declares that the company has topped a monthly turnover figure of £1m plus. They say this is despite the demise of EuroManx, which hit their Ronaldsway based operation quite hard.

Apparently the business has now stabilized after a tough couple of months; and the business is now back on track and looking at further expansion in addition to the recent move into Guernsey.

The company currently operates at 6 airports; including Aberdeen, Manchester and Coventry.

Brett Turner, CEO, and minority shareholder of the company, says: “I am very pleased with this month’s figures. The company as a whole is looking very positive. I have every confidence that we will achieve our target of eight bases by the end of 2008. We have grown from one base with twenty staff on the Island to six bases and five hundred and sixty staff in three and a half years. It has been an incredible journey so far, and I am looking forward to the future developments in the next six months”.

The Rendezvous Executive Lounge, which is part of ABFS Group at Ronaldsway is also claimed to be proving a valuable service in the airport - with traffic through the lounge constantly rising and it has already had to be extended in size due to the amount of people using the facility.

The company believes that the lounge is a strong brand and is proving to be an extremely popular alternative for people who want to relax in comfort or simply use the business services that are available.

Former Manx Airlines, B.A. CitiExpress and EuroManx employee, Mr Turner established Flight Support in 2005 and 95% of the shares were acquired by Crawley based Airbase Interiors in 2007.

Responding to the news that the company was recently fined for failure to provide employee NI records to an inspector, the issue was dismissed as a complete oversight and a mistake that would not happen again.
