A New Year Message from the Editor

The Manx Herald wishes all its readers an enjoyable and fulfilling 2008 and thanks them for visiting the Manx Herald web site during 2007.

We have attempted to bring you news stories during the year that were not covered by the other media on the IOM or to write about them from a different viewpoint.

Unfortunately, it has not been possible to sustain the level of reporting of ‘daily’ news as we would have liked as the Manx Herald has, and continues, to operate without any resources or funding.

Therefore, the Manx Herald will, until the situation improves, concentrate on providing commentary on significant Island affairs and noteworthy news stories.

The Manx Herald also intends to commission some investigative journalism of matters of public interest that are not being properly investigated or reported by the media or the appropriate authorities. We have a number of issues in mind but we welcome suggestions; particularly if the subject is likely to be of interest to our readers and is backed-up with documentary evidence.
