LegCo election farce to run for full season?

The House of Keys failed for the seventh time to elect a new Tynwald Member to fill the final seat left vacant by the resignations of Leonard Singer and Donald Gelling.

As predicted by the Manx Herald none of the three candidates, retired policeman Derek Nicholson; former banker David Saunders or Energy FM boss Juan Turner received the necessary 13 votes. Mr Turner came closest with 11.

An eighth vote will take place in two weeks time and fresh nominations must be with the Clerk of Tynwald
