Announcement expected soon on Draft Strategic Plan

An announcement is expected, in the next few days, as to whether a further Public Inquiry will be held before the latest version of the draft Strategic Plan is taken, by the Department of Local Government and the Environment Minister, John Shimmin, to Tynwald for approval.

Director of Planning, Ian McCauley informed The Manx Herald, last week, that the Minister will be issuing a statement shortly. This follows on from a Departmental meeting held last Monday, during which the submissions received from interested parties were discussed.

However, there is some confusion as to how this announcement will be delivered. The Manx Herald understood that a statement would be made at the next sitting of Tynwald, due to commence on Tuesday 19^th June, but no item has been included on the published Tynwald Order Paper.
