Callister makes it five

Robbie Callister recorded the seventh fastest time, of 15 hours, 36 minutes and 32 seconds, in winning his fifth Parish Walk in the early hours of this morning (Sunday). Only John Cannell, with six victories, has won the race more times.

Callister was trailing defending champion Sean Hands into the early afternoon, but took over the lead when Hands pulled out on the Sloc, with hamstring and other fitness problems.

Finishing in second place, some fifteen minutes behind, was Ray Pitts, a one place improvement on last year, but six minutes up on third placed Michael George.

First women home was Sue Biggart, in seventh place overall.
