The Isle of Man TUC is marking over 20 years of active service to former President Bernard Moffatt.

The Trades Council will be making a presentation to Mr Moffatt on Tuesday 28 July from 12 – 2pm at Transport House, Fort Street, Douglas.

The presentation will mark the end of an era, where Moffatt personally pushed the IOMTUC back to the fore of Manx politics, and ushered in a period of legislative and social reform.

During his tenure, the island has seen a wealth of new employment legislation many of which he as President campaigned for. The Council was also able to gain access for working people into forums such as the Manx National Economic Development Council and a range of tribunals during his time, as IOMTUC representatives.

Representatives from all affiliate unions are expected to be present at the event.
