The next scheduled event organised by the Positive Action Group will be held on Monday 24th November 2008, 7.30 p.m. at The Sefton Hotel, Douglas.

The P A G says that we regard our Island as a well regulated international financial services centre. If the U K Chancellor's closing remarks to the Treasury Committee, last week, is anything to go by it's clear that the  rest of the world may still think of us as a 'tax haven', with all the negative connotations that that phrase conjures up.

Tax Justice Network has for a number of years been a severe critic of tax havens, associating them with cross border tax evasion and tax avoidance.

John Christensen, a Director of T J N will present its case.

Malcolm Couch, IoM Assessor of Tax, will present the case for the Isle of Man.

As usual with P A G events you, the audience, will be invited to ask questions and give opinions.

Details of both speakers can be read at:

http://www.positiveactiongroup.org/html/pag_events.html

 and the T J N website is: http://www.taxjustice.net/cms/front_content.php?idcat=2

Admission is free and all are welcome - bring friends, family and colleagues!

Early indications are that it will be a popular event so please make sure of a place(s) by email: info@positiveactiongroup.org   or phone: 863106
