Liberal Vannin to establish Island-wide ‘Youth Forum’

The Liberal Vannin Party (LVP) recently held an open meeting, for young people in Ramsey, organised by the Northern Branch Chairman Eddie O'Sulliven.

The informal evening was well attended by some 30 interested young people from the North of the Island. The main items of concern were: the lack of late night public transport to and from Ramsey; and the need for a community facility central to the area.

After the meeting, LVP chairman, Nigel Malpass said, “Such interest bodes well for September 2011” - the date of the next general election – “and discussions are now taking place to set up an Island-wide ‘Youth Forum’ within the LVP”.

Subsequent to the meeting, a group toured Tynwald, on the 30th March, at the invitation of Peter Karran MHK; and LVP hope this new initiative will encourage more young people to become involved in Island politics.
