At next Tuesday's sitting of the House of Keys a further attempt will be made to elect the final new Member to Legislative Council to fill the one vacancy left by the resignations of Leonard Singer and Donald Gelling.
Energy FM radio boss, Juan Turner, ex-police Inspector Derek Nicholson and David Saunders, former head of Premium Banking at IOM Bank have joined the cast.
On past performance it is thought unlikely that one of the candidates will receive the 13 votes required to secure the place - although it is believed that Energy FM staff are confident that the support for their boss will surprise a lot of people.
Meanwhile, Rushen MHK, Phil Gawne's Private Member's Bill to change the way LegCo elections are held passed its First Reading in the House of Key's on Tuesday.
The Bill, if it becomes law, should overcome the current ridiculous situation by allowing further ballots to produce a result at one sitting.
